I had a dream Donald Trump was my boss. I shouted at him for his toxic impact on the public. This caused his head to turn into a giant onion.

“I had a dream a month or two back where a rich friend agreed to loan some friends and I 100 million dollars for some large purchase I couldn’t quite recall. Everyone agreed I was the most responsible so I was to keep the money safe until we bought whatever it was we were going to buy. So I kept the money in my shoe and decided to take a ride on the subway to kill time. I became paranoid that I was going to get mugged so I hopped off in an unfamiliar neighborhood and made the attempt to walk home. I bumped into someone who, from the back, I thought was my girlfriend’s father, but when I called out and he turned around I did not recognize him. And he was mad at me. His eyes were grey and piercing and I could tell he knew I had all this money in my shoe. The whole world seemed to blacken and we stood there staring at each other for who knows how long. My heart felt like it was going to leap out of my chest. Then, without a word he turned and walked away. I took my chance and ran as far and fast as I could. Somehow I found myself in a curiosity shop that sold all sorts of things. I found a tyrannosaurs skull that I decided I must own. As I began to talk to the shop owner, my teeth began to grow into monstrous, stony fangs. Eventually they were so large I could no longer budge my jaw as they were nearly bursting from my mouth. Then I woke up.”

I had a dream that I was Jon Stewart and I deleted Dana Carvey from my cell phone because–as I explained to Louis CK–“he’s an asshole”. Louie was surprised by this and pressed me for stories about how he was an asshole but I didn’t know what to say because I soon realized I was not actually Jon Stewart. I said he used the bus too much. Later Louie was a guest on the Daily Show and asked Jon about what I did in the dream but Jon didn’t remember it. “It must have been a dream,” he said. He wanted to change the subject to his early stand-up days, but Louie interrupted him to talk about juggling dogs.
This doodle is because I felt like I needed to do something to signify Jon Stewart’s last show. I could go on and on about what Jon Stewart’s meant to me over the years, but I don’t want to get overly sentimental. I’ll be crying tonight, I’m sure.
Some of my art pals in Philadelphia have an Indiegogo to start an online and in print art zine called SPRED where each issue with have it’s own theme. Their first issue’s theme is the word “spread”. So for my humble submission I reinterpreted a dream I’ve already illustrated on this page.

I once had a dream where John Linnell (of They Might Be Giants) was the guest on a talk show hosted by my high school algebra teacher wearing an animal suit. Linnell dragged himself across the floor, climbed on a wheelie chair, and said, “I’m missing my spine today.” He was referring to not having John Flansburgh with him.
It’s likely I had “The Spine” playing in real life outside the dream.
About a week after leaving Soup2Nuts (where I was a storyboard artist for “Astroblast”) I had this dream about having my car parked inside, much to the chagrin of my co-workers. But then I lent my car to a friend so that he could rescue his family.
Consider this my modest tribute to the studio, as it was announced last month that Soup has shut its doors. Soup2Nuts was founded as Tom Snyder Productions in 1993, and since then it has been a unique voice in the animation industry. We don’t only have Soup2Nuts to thank for bringing us great entertainment like “Dr. Katz Professional Therapist”, “Home Movies”, and “Word Girl”, but consider how they cultivated the talents of individuals like H. Jon Benjamin, Brendon Small, and Loren Bouchard who have all gone on to projects like “Bob’s Burgers” and “Metalocalypse”.
Personally I will be forever grateful toward the people who gave me a shot and I’m very proud to have been a small part of the Soup2Nuts story.

I visited Minneapolis in November, which is where I met the nice people who I’ve been working in conjunction with to make these holiday videos for Post-it. I met an amiable couple at the Sheraton Midtown bar my last night there–he was the bartender, she was waiting for him to finish working–and she sent me this dream a while ago. Sorry I’m just getting to it now, Bev.
“If you have never heard of a ‘Pedal Pub’ before, it is basically a bar on a bicycle (a rather large bicycle that about 10 people sit on and pedal while drinking). They are pretty popular in Minnesota during the Spring/Summer/Fall months.In my dream, my friends and I were on a 'Pedal Canoe.’ Basically a pedal pub but it was shaped like a canoe and we were going from land to water and back to land rather seamlessly. We were calling this contraption a Vidakin. No idea where that came from…but it seemed so real that when I woke up I had to Google it to see if it actually existed. I am sad to report that it doesn’t…yet. But you never know, right?”
